Busted by chuck...

Well since i haven't seen a post about chuck in a while... Thought everyone would enjoy this story about Chuck Norris putting people in jail. I think i got next year's halloween costume from this pic, unbuttoned to the belt and a smooth butt-cut mullet! Since, I'm in Alabama i could probably just carry dad's guns around with me demanding candy and Nikes.

should i stay or should i go now?

Kind of a random thought here... After going through my first hurricane
season, which happened to be one of the busiest in U.S. history, it was a
weird experience being an Oklahoma boy. I'm used to tornadoes which give
you little time to prepare for their arrival. I remember when I was little
thinking about what I would take with me if a tornado was headed straight
for me and I actually had time to react. So, now when a hurricane is a few
days out and could possibly be heading for me I automatically go into a
packing mode. The computer, pictures, files, sentimental items and extra
change of underwear get packed in the car. The first true hurricane that I
went through was Dennis. Everyone south of I-10 where evacuated, which is
me, so i went to some friends house who live more inland in Mobile. When I
arrived with my car full of sentimentals and documents they proceeded to
laugh hysterically at my paranoia.
Now, for those of you that know me well I do exhibit a fair amount of
paranoia in day-to-day life ,and no that is not after bong rips which is a
totally different post all together. I like to blame my paranoia on my
Chirstian upbringing and my wound tight Father. I have this; I don't want
to do anything wrong, hurt anyone, are the ones i love ok?, will this all
work out type of paranoia. not the meth head is there a cockroach on a pay
phone outside calling the cops paranoia.
So, after my somewhat embarassing experience of being laughed at by the
locals for my paranoia I feel completely justified after the destruction
known as katrina. I have talked to more than a few people from N.O. that
wish they would have brought more stuff with them. However on a general
note unless you live directly on the coast, very close to the coast or a
flood plane the damage usually isn't too bad aside from roof damage or a
wayward tree falling into your house. Ok so i'm getting tired of
rambaling... Have great Friday everyone!

Let's regift...

So, I want to say that I plan on regifting a "dirty santa" gift I received at the company party. I started out with a bottle of scotch and ended on a 2in. square mirror, I was robbed!
On a more fictional note I want to regift the President and people that live below sea level and are shocked when it floods! Don't get me wrong we should help the people of New Orleans I'm just getting tired of hearing all the blame go to the levees.
However I think the President is a butt monkey! So, take that!
What do you want to regift?

Claymation Christmas...

Does anyone remember and miss Will Vinton's Claymation Christmas (1987)? I still have a few of the raisins i collected when i was younger. I searched for claymation on tv this past weekend and couldn't find anything. I want to see the wisemen and camels singing. Time to place an order for this holiday hit!

Glad to see Curry playing basketball again. He scored 30 in the win over Mercer!

Ryan, check this article out about burners.
I also found this site on building computers, it has lists of components to buy depending on the type of system you want to build and other great tips!

The Guillotine!!

Last night in Ju Jitsu we got to spar for the last 10min. of class! I sank my first guillotine choke last night during sparring and it was awesome, the guy tapped out. That's a picture of the guillotine

Richard Johnston...

I have been listening to his style of blues called hill country blues since last winter and really enjoy it! He's currently working on his 3rd album. I admire that he has stayed independent in spite of many recording contract offers. You can buy his music on his website.

What prompted me to post about him is that i got an email talking about how his music will be used in a movie called "Come Early Morning" and will premier at sundance this next year and play in theaters in 2006.

P.S.- Ryan, I will send you some computer info. this weekend!

.NET

Working on creating my first full system with .net so, I am reading a lot of text and looking at a lot of examples. I've kinda brought this on myself because I chose to use .net to develop so I can get some experience with it. I'm looking at classes because my company will pay for training, might as well take advantage.

Not much happening down here these days, just work and ju jitsu. Did get the tree up last weekend and got lights on the house.

I do have the company christmas party comin' up, should be interesting. It's being held at a swanky restaurant called the pillars, open bar starts @ 6, Maybe i'll get drunk and start the naked conga line!! Woo hoo company parties!

I gotta a serious craving for Hideaways mushrooms with honey mustard sauce!

64-62

The game last night against #9 Gonzaga was tough to watch yet relieving after I got done condemning Adam Morrison's soul to hell. There is no doubt the kid can play!
If you didn't see it Morrison hit a 3 point shot OFF THE GLASS to beat us with 2.5 seconds left in the game. He's lucky he wasn't on the play ground because that would have never stood without him calling it! But, I think it was a great experience for OSU. A hostile environment, seattle is only 300 miles away from Spokane where Gonzaga is located, with a ranked school definitely forced us in to a learning situation. The defense is still looking kinda weak but we did play better then I've seen all season. Rebounding was better but the dribble contain d is still lacking, man to man d needs to improve greatly! I look forward to seeing how the team improves over the season, and hope Curry conquers the mental battle and shoots with confidence again! Oh, and i gotta say that foul against Eaton at the end was BULLSHIT, but it got him out of the game which was good for the zags i guess. And, yes poor defense leads to more fouls which has been a problem so far this season.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com On a different note in the collegiate wrestling world #1 OSU beat #3 OU 23-12 in bedlam this past friday! This is a pic of Steve Mocco the heavyweight and defending national champ. His signature moves is a foot sweep... He is also a junior national champ in judo.

Somethin' to make you giggle...

So i made a comment on Mark's blog about dad's breast story. So, i thought i would share.

When living in K.C. with dad it was brought to my attention by my step-mom tha my dad is a breast man. Interject your own jokes here, Mark! So, I said something to the effect of "oh yeah?" showing obvious interest. Turns out dad has been a breast man since birth due to the fact that he was breast fed by his aunts too. I guess it takes a village. I just find it amusing THAT is what makes one a breast man.

Mark, I put 2 pics in w/text by uploading one through blogger and the other i just used the img tag in "edit html". The url being to Photobucket a free place to store images. Check it out... I guess you may have missed Elvis' 80's tour.

Call him Curly Bill...

Dad now has two good eyes and a right to carry permit. That's a permit to carry a concealed weapon. In Dad's case a light weight 9mm. We went out to eat last night and Dad was strapped! I thought we were going to have to break out the weapon to get our check, Dad restrained himself. Just imagine the arguments I can win when i'm with dad, "Is there a problem here?" Pan to dad sliding his jacket back revealing the winning argument!
