Camping anyone?

Well it's that time of year again, fishing and camping is about to begin. I'm going camping and canoeing this weekend on the Bartram Canoe trails in the Delta of the Bay. Here is the route I'm going to take. The boat I'm taking is a Gheenoe, it's basically a canoe but wider and longer (16') with a flat bottom so it's more stable then a canoe (I stand up and fish off of it all the time) and goes in some pretty shallow water. It's proving to be one of my best purchases to date. I'm leaving the outboard at home and am going to paddle this one... The pic i have up is similar to mine except i don't have the platform on the back. This Delta is the second largest in the U.S. the largest being the Mississippi. There are supposed to be some really old cypress trees in this swamp so it should be fun. I'm also hoping to see some gators, preferrably at a distance. Micco (dad's German Shepard) will be my travelling companion so that will make it a little safer. Shirley the .38 will also be along for the ride pending i run into any Deliverance-type situations, hey it's Alabama you never know. I'm more worried about people then I am animals. Yes, i did just makeup the name Shirley... A good book next to raging campfire sounds so good right now. I can't wait.
